"McFly + rugby shorts + rugby players = afternoon madeIf we had to dream up an ideal afternoon, it'd involve watching McFly in tight shorts playing rugby with real-life fit rugby players.
Well whaddyaknow, just as today was looking rather dull, this lovely video landed in front of us.
The video shows Dougie Poynter, Harry Judd, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones meeting the Saracens rugby players and having a little game.
McFly kick proceedings off by whacking out their guitars and having a sing-song with the sporting stars. There are literally too many fit men to count.
Then the lads get changed into their rugby kits (blushing starts here) before heading onto the pitch to be flung around by the real rugby players (blushing a bit more.)
Harry Judd moves across the field in true athletic style (blushing reaching new levels) and Danny comments that he's bruised his bum before SHOWING us. *Faints*
We're hitting 'replay' right now."

Schools in Get Set, the London 2012 education programme, are being encouraged to get their dancing shoes on and perform a new Mascot Dance routine as part of their celebrations for World Sport Day, presented by Lloyds TSB, taking place on Monday 25 June.
The Mascot Dance which is seeing students and mascots alike shuffling to the official mascot song ‘On a Rainbow’ is part of the second set of resources to help schools get ready to celebrate the athletes and cultures of the world on World Sport Day. London 2012 is encouraging schools to perform the mascot dance as part of their World Sport Day opening ceremony. Schools can download the Mascot Dance instruction films and step-by-step resources from the London 2012 World Sport Day website.
The dance routine was choreographed by students from Chingford Foundation School, The Coopers Company and Coborn School, and Newtons Primary School all in London and Knockhall Community Primary School in Kent. The students first took part in a creative workshop at the English National Ballet where they developed the routine. They then performed the dance, along with Wenlock and Mandeville, at the Piccadilly Theatre in London where the instructive film was created. Begona Cao, Principal Dancer at the English National Ballet also performed the dance with the students and took part in a Q&A session.
The resources were launched yesterday at Chingford Foundation School where Tom Fletcher (lead singer and guitarist of pop rock band McFly) who wrote and then recorded ‘On a Rainbow’ alongside his sister Carrie Fletcher paid a surprise visit and learnt the routine from the students.
Tom Fletcher said: ‘These young people have created an amazing dance and we hope all schools can all perform it and have fun on World Sport Day... We are very proud to be part of it; it’s an honour to have the dance set to our song.’
Amber Hassan, a student from Chingford Foundation School said: ‘I’m really excited that we’re involved with London 2012 and other school children will be copying our moves. It’s really good’.
Max Juniper, a student from Knockhall Community Primary School added: ‘Every lunchtime at school I’ve been practicing my moves.’
London 2012 World Sport Day, which will open Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week in England and Wales, and build on the momentum created during Bank of Scotland National School Sport Week (11-15 June 2012) in Scotland, will give young people in thousands of schools across the UK the chance to take part in the final UK-wide Get Set event before the start of the London 2012 Games, and to join together in celebrating how sport can bring the world together. For more information about World Sport Day please visit http://www.london2012.com/worldsportday
LOCOG will be releasing and promoting new resources every month to help schools plan their day and decorate their school for the celebrations. Schools can request their free event pack on the World Sport Day website; the pack is full of branded materials and decorations, with schools in the Get Set network receiving access to extra materials and opportunities.
London 2012 World Sport Day will be delivered by the Youth Sport Trust across the UK, and in conjunction with sportscotland for schools in Scotland."
Seattle Pi"10 minutes with Dougie PoynterThe McFly star tells Hannah Nathanson about Bruce Forsyth's ninja skills and texting naughty pictures
You're about to play Wembley, are your new songs anthemic enough? They are. Think Bruce Springsteen having a baby with Daft Punk.
Where did you come up with them?We hid on a Welsh island that you can only reach when the tide is out. There are seals and there's an air base nearby so there were fighter jets flying over the whole time. It's sick.
You and Harry [Judd] won I'm a Celebrity and Strictly; which reality show should Danny and Tom go on?I don't think there's one feminine enough for them.
How does one win a reality TV show?By not being yourself. No one's actually interested in the 'real you'.
Are you and fellow Essex boy Mark Wright still in touch? We send each other weird pictures every now and again.
Pictures of what?I can't tell you, I think it's a bit wrong.
If you weren't in McFly would you have made it on to TOWIE?Probably not, I'm not glamorous enough.
Do McFly get a lot of adoring fan mail?I'm not sure if you'd call pube cakes adoring, but we did once get a fan letter three miles long.
What did Bruce Forsyth do when you stormed on stage to congratulate Harry after he'd won Strictly? He didn't know who we were. I think he thought we were there to kidnap the winner so he went into defence mode and attacked us with his ninja skills, which was pretty bad-ass.
Did he apologise once he realised who you were?Oh no.
What's the first thing you did when you got back from the jungle?I ate a lot. I've only just stopped gorging. I've put on two stone since I got back.
Did you pick up any strange habits when you were there?I broke strange habits more than anything. I stopped fiddling with my hair.
What did you miss most?Sitting in a chair.
Why have you called your new clothing line Saint Kidd? It's based on my favourite pirate, William Kidd, who was really rubbish at being a pirate. It's also inspired by curiosity shops and taxidermists; the sort of places that I hang around in.
Saracens and Aviva are bringing McFly to Wembley for a special show at the Aviva Premiership rugby clash against Harlequins on Saturday 31 March. Tickets from £5 (0844 847 2482; saracensatwembley.com)"
This Is London"‘We go out on tour on Wednesday and Harry’s only just back from Strictly’As McFly prepare to kick off their UK tour with a show at Portsmouth Guildhall next week, Tom Fletcher talks to JODIE JEYNES about life in the band since their reality TV exploits.
Hi Tom. How are you today? We hear you were injured in a rugby scrum recently?I’m good thanks. We’re just finishing rehearsals. The rugby injury wasn’t as bad as everyone made it sound. We’re playing at the Scaracens V Harlequins game at Wembley Stadium, so we were doing some promotion with the Saracens. We were meant to do a little bit of training but we got carried away, as boys do. What’s embarrassing is he [6ft 2in England Under 20 international Jackson Wray] hardly touched me, he just jolted my shoulder. It’s still a little bit sore.
Has it affected tour preparations? No. I’m better now and there’s still a week to go before the tour. Their physio at the team helped me out with some exercises. But they gave me a lot of stick for it.
A lot has happened to the band since you last spoke to The Guide in 2009. Dougie winning I’m A Celebrity... and Harry winning Strictly must have brought the band to a wider audience. Are you expecting to see a whole new audience at the shows?I don’t really know. Our audience is growing as we get older anyway. We’ll have to wait and see.
How are Dougie and Harry adapting to life back in the band? They are terrible. They are so arrogant and big headed now, real divas [jokes]. No, they’re loving it. Dougie was only in the jungle for three weeks, so he’s been back with us for a while. But Harry only finished with Strictly two days ago after the Strictly tour. It was a massive commitment for Harry.
And Danny did Popstar to Operastar in 2010. Will you do any reality TV shows?I don’t know. I can’t do Strictly or I’m a Celebrity after they won them. It would be too much pressure.
You’ve been writing your sixth album. When can we expect it to be released? Not a clue. We’ve not had a chance to get into the studio properly with Harry on drums. And we’re touring now, so it will have to wait until we finish the tour, then I’m getting married, so maybe June/July we’ll get back in the studio.
We’re so, so excited about it though. It sounds amazing. Danny’s producing the whole album, so it’s just ourselves. In a band you always have a vision for an album but there are so many other opinions from people like the producer and the record label. But, this time, it’s just us [they have their own label now]. We’ve been hiring houses and setting up studios there, just us lot.
It’s the most genuine McFly album that we’ve ever done, It’s still early days, but I can already see the album taking shape. It’s one for the fans. The last album was more of an experiment, but this one’s got more of what the fans love about McFly.
Will you play any new material on the tour? We’re doing three brand new songs no one’s ever heard, so the pressure’s on. We haven’t played a show since August last year, so we’re rehearsing frantically.
A very limited number of tickets are available for McFly’s Keep Calm and Play Louder tour date in Portsmouth on Wednesday. They cost £30 or £45 from (023) 9282 4355 or portsmouthguildhall.org.uk. They also play a sold out date in Southampton on March 21.
IVYRISE SUPPORT MCFLYSupport on McFly’s tour comes from Portsmouth indie rock band Ivyrise.
Frontman, Ben Falinski says: ‘It is a massive opportunity for us to support McFly and we’re really excited to be touring with such a high-profile act.
‘It means a lot to us that the guys want us out on the road with them, and we’re very grateful for the chance to share a stage with such a great band.
‘I’m really excited to be coming home to Pompey again, as I always am, but this time I’ll be playing in our biggest music venue, the Guildhall. We can’t wait.’"
