"McFly delight their fans
HUNDREDS of McFly fans queued up in Witney yesterday to meet their idols.
Bassist Dougie Poynter and drummer Harry Judd signed autographs for screaming fans at Rapture, Oxfordshire’s only independent record store.
Debi Wiffen, from Witney, gave Harry a big kiss. She said meeting the band had made her year.
Jess Handchard, 17, queued for seven hours and said: “I can’t stop shaking. I will definitely remember it forever.”
Alice Saltmarsh, 20, said she had seen the band play 36 times, adding: “It was pretty awesome – I’m actually shaking.”
The band were in the store to promote new single Shine a Light and album Above the Noise."

"Fans queue for hours to meet heart-throbs McFly at Cheltenham's Rise
HORDES of screaming girls were sent into overdrive at a Cheltenham record shop when boyband McFly rocked into town.
Two members of the Brit Award-winning band were on hand at Rise Records in Beechwood Shopping Centre to sign copies of their new single, Shine a Light.
More than 250 fans, mostly female, queued up outside the shop in the hope of meeting their idols, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher.
Holly Barrett, 16, from Tewkesbury, waited from 8.30am to get to the front of the queue.
She said: "It was definitely worth it. I have spent five years waiting to meet them, so I didn't mind waiting for nine hours today. It's not just the way they look that fans love.
"They are so down to earth and genuine. They took time to talk to everyone."
Emma Mills, 22, a University of Gloucestershire student from St Paul's, said: "It is so exciting to meet the boys.
"We've been fans for a long time and they are absolutely gorgeous."
On one of McFly's more recent visits to the town in 2006, crowds were caught up in a frightening crush when 30,000 people packed the Promenade to see them play.
But police and security workers were on hand yesterday to marshal fans, with queues snaking into an empty unit opposite the shop.
Heart-throb Danny, 25, said: "It's great to come to Cheltenham and meet all our fans here. We have been doing this for seven years now, so it's amazing to still get this kind of reception."

"McFly support Ella
McFly have pledged their support for Ella’s Let’s Talk Disability campaign.
Our spanking-new 12th campaigner, Ella Prendergast, interviewed the super-massive band this afternoon in London. She talked to them about the idea behind her campaign – encouraging young people to look past disability – and asked the boys about their experiences of being around disabled people themselves.
Tom, Dougie, Harry and Danny were hugely supportive of Let’s Talk Disability and told Ella about a couple of their friends that have disabilities and encounter people staring at them and treating them differently.
After the interview, Ella played McFly an amazing song she’s written about campaigning. The boys liked it so much that they all joined in and sang the chorus with her!
And as if that wasn’t enough McFly love for one day: Tom, Dougie and co have since tweeted about Ella’s campaign, saying how ace it is and asking their followers to get behind her.
Click here for Ella's campaign page. And click back next week to watch the interview

"Mcfly - Mcfly's Poynter Fainted During Tattoo Session
MCFLY star DOUGIE POYNTER was left red-faced after fainting during a recent tattoo session. The British musician has been adding to his body art collection and plans to cover his entire forearm with ink.
But during one recent outing to the tattoo parlour, Poynter came over queasy and passed out.
He tells U.K. TV host Paul O'Grady, "I fainted on one of my sessions of having a tattoo (sic). It was on the inside of my arm.
"I have kind of a full sleeve in the making. It's more annoying than really painful, it's just quite aggravating. It's just like being poked and it's like, 'Agh, stop!'"

"'Shag, Marry and Avoid', with McFly (warning: this is a bit nasty. Nasty in a sex way, not a mean way)
Well, it was inevitable that our interview with McFly would end in some sort of sex game.
We were tempted to keep this one for our own personal uses, along with Harry’s 'oh, you are naughty’ comment in our earlier McFly video – but figured if you lot like McFly as much as we do, you deserve to watch it.
After talking to the boys about nudity, testicles and underwear in what we’ll loosely refer to as the ‘proper McFly interview’, we decided to play a game of ‘Shag, Marry and Avoid’.
Naturally, the tone got lower and lower and eventually settled on talk of a McFly orgy involving grape throwing, high fives and mid-sex coffee runs.
You’ll have to watch the video for it to make sex, we mean, sense…
PS Sorry about the sex noise we appear to make towards the end there. It just came out. We couldn't help it. Yeah."

"This filthy video is the result of shutting us in a room with McFly for hours

The last time we interviewed McFly, we got completely carried away and ended up talking absolute filth on top of their interview (warning – if you click on this link, you will be disgusted) about how we wanted to mount Danny and lick Dougie’s tattoos.

So when we turned up to meet the boys at the studio yesterday, we were hoping they hadn’t watched our X-rated video. Yeah… they had. But rather than scolding us (which we would have quite enjoyed), they encouraged us by saying it turned them on. Not a wise move, boys.

Aside from our attempt to have sex with them, we spoke to McFly about their new Super City site and album Above The Noise, before moving swiftly onto full frontal nudity, The Only Way Is Essex and showing The Saturdays their testicles.

And then there’s the amazing game which we created especially for the interview – ‘I Believe I Can McFly, I Believe I Can Touch the McSky’. This basically involved showing the boys pictures of animals and letting them guess whether they have the ability to fly. Because education is fun, even if you’re a well famous band.

Watch the video above to find out the results of our hilarious quiz, plus feel free to rewind and play the bit where Harry says ‘you’re naughty’ over and over again (we totally didn’t do that).

PS Here’s an even filthier video where we play ‘shag, marry and avoid’ with McFly - which you simply must watch. Unless you’re 12 or something, in which case, go to bed. No, you can’t see the pretty fireworks, just go to bed."

"McFly's Dougie: Frankie Sandford can't complain about my gay strip
McFly's Dougie Poynter has said that his girlfriend Frankie Sandford can't complain about a recent photoshoot he did for a gay magazine as she often poses in saucy shoots.
'She's always frolicking about in her underwear. I don't get overly jealous - at the end of the day it's just a picture, isn't it?' he said in an exclusive interview with X Magazine.
However, he added that he does sometimes wonder who else is going to be at shoots with the Saturdays songstress.
'I am a bit like, [doing an inquisitive-type sneer] "Who's there?" But there wasn't that to worry about with us - it was just us and the photographer,' Dougie continued.
His bandmate Harry added that his mum had seen the pics and thought he looked 'very buff'.
Despite their new, raunchier image, McFly have reassured their respective partners that they have nothing to worry about.
In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Dougie said that people presume the band will be unfaithful because they are in the music business, but they are not like that.
'Sleeping with a fan feels weird. It's a bit disrespectful,' he added."

"Flying visit to Marlborough by top boy band
The chart-topping band McFly is coming to the Sound Knowledge music shop in Marlborough Monday, November 15 to sign copies of their new album Above the Noise on its launch day.
Sound Knowledge regularly has visits by up and coming bands and performers to promote tours or the release of new albums but owner Roger Mortimer said McFly was probably the biggest band to have visited the music store in Hughenden Yard, off the High Street.
Members of the band will be at the music shop from 5pm on November 15 for the signing session on the day of the release of their new album.
Mr Mortimer said: “It will be probably the best known band we have had visit Sound Knowledge and we are looking forward to it very much, especially as it’s the launch day for their latest album.”
The Brit award-winning rock group was formed in London in 2004 and consists of Tom Fletcher (lead vocals and guitar), Danny Jones (lead vocals and guitar), Dougie Poynter (backing vocals and bass guitar) and Harry Judd (drums).
McFly shot to fame after another band, Busted, helped launch them by inviting the band to take part in a UK tour in 2004.
Their debut album Room on the 3rd Floor debuted at number one in the UK album charts, which led to McFly becoming the youngest band to have an album heading the charts.
This was an accolade previously held by another four-piece boy band called The Beatles.
McFly have had 17 consecutive top 20 singles, seven of which became chart toppers and 15 reaching the top ten in the charts.
Because of the need to control numbers in the Sound Knowledge shop Mr Mortimer said all those who wanted to attend had to ring (01672) 511106 in order to register.
It is not known if all four members of the band will be in Marlborough or just some of them."

"McFly talk to BBC Radio Derby's Colin Bloomfield
McFly have been in Derby for an appearance on Chris Moyles's live breakfast show at the Guildhall Theatre.
The band, who have seven number one UK singles to their name, also spoke to BBC Radio Derby's Colin Bloomfield after the programme had finished.
But it's not Dougie and the boys' first visit to the city - they've performed several concerts here over the years and welcomed hundreds of screaming fans during an album-signing session at a Spondon supermarket.
In their interview they discuss Robbie Savage, talk about their hectic schedule and predict who'll win this year's X Factor.
Around 200 people were in the audience for the live edition of Moyles's breakfast programme.
Derby County captain Robbie Savage was invited onto the show for a special edition of 'Carpark Catchphrase'.
You can see pictures from the morning plus Aled's guide to Derby on the BBC Radio 1 website.

"McFly Launch Super City
We are very pleased to announce, the launch of McFly's new super website - 'Super City' - where fans can interact with the band on a closer basis than ever before!
Also 'Pioneers' (first sign ups to the site) will also be able to download the band's new album 'Above the Noise' RIGHT NOW before it is widely released on 15th November! Very cool stuff.
Fancy a rummage round Danny’s bedroom? Or intruding on Tom writing a song? How about meeting McFly in person, bagging the best seats at their concerts or connecting with fans of the band from all over the world? Then sign up to Super City.
Super City is much more than a website. It’s a high-tech, high-concept super site set to revolutionise the relationship between a band and their fans. It’s a portal that works both ways, spills over into the real world and offers a future model for the piracy-hit music industry.
Two years in the making and funded by McFly themselves, Super City was inspired by graphic novels and interactive computer games. The site has citizens rather than visitors, whose aim is to increase their status, not by spending money, but by interacting with the band and other fans. By earning points, fans can achieve Gold Citizen status, which allows them to unlock further levels of band access.
“Super City doesn’t look or work like any other website,” says singer Tom. “It took two years because we started from scratch with both the design and the concept. We created new ways of interacting with fans and supplying them with music. We ignored all the old rules about what bands can and can’t do. With Super City, our fans never have to buy a McFly album again. They get unrivalled access to us. They get a say in what we play at shows and which songs we release. They can talk to us through the site or, if they reach a certain status, come early to our concerts and meet us.”
The idea for Super City took root when McFly discovered, almost by accident, how large a fanbase they had all over the globe. During their first spell with major label Universal, their albums were released only in Britain. When they went independent, they found they could sell out shows everywhere from Australia to South America – they shifted 12,000 tickets in Sao Paolo alone. When they took to Twitter, over 300,000 fans started following them.
“The idea was to create one place where fans from all over the world could get together and access as much McFly content as we can produce at the same time, wherever they live,” says the band’s manager Matthew Fletcher. “We’ve built a site that not only looks spectacular, but goes way beyond any other web experience. The boys aren’t precious about anything. Both personally and professionally, either bravely or foolishly, they will welcome fans into their lives through Super City.”
A subscription site that offers both monthly and annual memberships (£6 and £40 respectively), Super City will update its content on a daily basis. All citizens receive McFly’s new album, Above The Noise, on 1st November two weeks ahead of the release date, plus monthly content that will include acoustic songs, concert performances and exclusive covers. The site has a Super Community with a Facebook-style element so fans can interact with each other, a Twitter-like application called Chatter, a table where fans can post their own artwork or videos and a room from which McFly can video chat.
All four members of McFly have designed their own fantasy bedrooms, where they will post
personal content.
“With Danny, it might be dance remixes or he may run a competition to remix a track from a fan,” explains Fletcher. “I know Dougie has his lizards in his room, if anyone needs tips on breeding reptiles! Harry wants to document making over a fan’s bedroom. Tom, who is the main songwriter, is prepared to post demos through his audio player and even let fans eavesdrop on him songwriting.
We will stream rehearsals live. If the boys have an argument, you’re going to see it. There may be a few regrets along the line.”
Super City launches on 1st November. The first 20,000 to sign up will be granted ‘Pioneer’ status, receiving the new album Above The Noise download plus artwork, being first to see McFly’s 38 minute film Nowhere Left To Run and a personalised, band-signed certificate, amongst other benefits. On the recent Before The Noise tour, Pioneers who had pre-ordered were granted VIP status at the gigs, with priority queueing, early access into the venue and the band coming out to meet fans after soundcheck. Next year, McFly will host meet and greet days unconnected to concerts for annual Pioneers in cities from Madrid and Manchester to Amsterdam and Sao Paolo.
Super City is about giving fans MORE than their money’s worth. “We want to give our amazing fans the ultimate fan experience” says Fletcher. It’s about moving the music industry on, but keeping music at its core. The only reason McFly are being so bold is because they believe in the music they’re making. But these days, fans want more than music for their money and that’s what Super City gives them.”

"McFly's Dougie: Sleeping with a fan feels weird
Comeback hunks McFly talk temptation.
McFly are back with a new album, a new image and are looking good. But handsome foursome McFly have revealed that despite being surrounded by temptation, the group are still well-behaved.
When asked whether they find it difficult resisting the lure when away, Dougie said: "Sleeping with a fan feels weird. It's a bit direspectful."
Tom equally agreed: "Definitely not. My girlfriend and I have been together for seven years. I live my fantasies through these guys!"
And Dougie explained: "Guys presume we're unfaithful, but we're just not like that."
However the chart-toppers named Miss World as a good example of their loyalty.
Tom said: "We're all in loving relationships, but we deserve a medal for some nights, like at Miss World."
When asked if they were nervous at the event, Tom said: "We were trying to not get caught perving over all the Miss World contestants.
Dougie agreed. "The best-looking girl of every country and we were the only guys our age there."
McFly's new single 'Shine A Light' is released on November 7 and their album 'Above The Noise' is released November 15.
We can't wait!"

Shine A Light -arvostelu

"McFly ft. Taio Cruz: 'Shine A Light'
In a year where Kelis released a dance LP, Robyn put out a trilogy of albums and Nicki Minaj, erm, happened, McFly Going Electro still managed to shock us. Having launched their new sound over the summer with ballsy dance-pop stomper 'Party Girl', they've now teamed up with the self-proclaimed Rockstarr But Actually Electropop Peddler Taio Cruz for their latest offering. Question is, has the novelty of a newer, poppier and, crucially, hunkier McFly already worn off?
Of course it flippin' well hasn't! On paper the pairing may sound like a hideous mish-mash of conflicting genres, but crank this up LOUD and the result is pop perfection. 'Shine A Light' might be a sentimental number about missing an ex, but with Cruz's squelchy synths, McFly's trademark pop/rock choonage and some deceptively catchy "Eh Eh"s, the urge to bound around the nearest open space for three minutes and 45 seconds is near-irresistible. Perhaps Dougie and co. have made a rockstar Rokstarr out of Taz after all?"
