"McFly 'Shine A Light' with Taio Cruz!
And not a vampire in sight... phew.
You know how we love a bit of honesty, Sugarscapers, so let us make a little confession: we weren't massive fans of McFly's comeback single, Party Girl! We could see where they were going with it but, as much as we loved the new look, we were unsure about the new sound.
However, we've just listened to their new single, and at last we're detecting a note of old school McFly cheesiness combined with that aforementioned new sound. And to prove just how much they've changed, they've even roped in Taio Cruz to funk up the whole track.

Shine A Light is one of those songs we like to listen to and daydream that someone is singing it about us. We even like to re-enact our very own music videos, that normally end in us tripping over a hairbrush just as things get a bit enthusiastic and dramatic.
And whatever little video we've summoned in our imaginative heads, we'll shamefully admit that it's not a patch on the real deal from the boys and Mr. Cruz.
Complete with weird costumes and jumpy guitar-playing moments, check out the video for Shine A Light... We think this is a definite improvement since Party Girl, as McFly are being a little less try-hard, and looking a lot more like the boys we fell in love with."

"Taio Cruz Praises "Talented" McFly
Taio Cruz was impressed by how "talented" the guys in McFly are, after working with the band on their brand new single.

Earlier this year the Dynamite singer and producer collaborated with the group on their next release Shine A Light and now says of their time together: "Those guys are all really talented. They play all their own instruments and write their own songs, they're great.
"It was really easy to work with such talented musicians in the studio and we wrote a brand new song, Shine A Light, it's their new single."
When asked about the song's video (which you can watch here), Taio said: "The fans sort of rush in at the end. We're all performing in this massive cage and they're basically all around the cage, just getting as hyped as us.
"We do a lot of rock jumping, fist pumping. It's great."

McFly release Shine A Light on November 7th, taken from their new Above the Noise album (out November 15th). Taio's compilation The Rokstarr Collection is out now."
