"McFly fly into Hampton Court
AFTER eight years, seven number one records and eight million albums sold, pop favourites McFly show no signs of slowing down.
The band’s double platinum debut album Room on the Third Floor went straight to number one, giving them the distinction of being the youngest band since The Beatles to do so. The lads then went on to win a Brit award in 2005 and were introduced to the Queen during the same year.
Drummer Harry Judd, 25, admitted that fame had been a whirlwind. “When it first kicked off, you don’t have a chance to sit back and take it all in. I feel very lucky but you just kind of go with the flow.
“It’s a real privilege to be in this position,” he said, adding that their involvement in charity campaigns and being able to help raise money made it even better.
“I reckon when we won the Brit award, that’s when it really sunk in. Meeting the Queen was pretty big, too."
Harry, plus lead guitarists Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones and bassist Dougie Poynter, have been on tour for much of this year and will be performing to bank holiday crowds at Hampton Court’s Jolly Day Out on Sunday August 28.
Thanks to their regular performances, the lads are well-rehearsed and ready to rock the tranquil palace gardens, Harry said, and audiences could expect a ‘pretty slick show’.
“The atmosphere when we get on stage is always absolutely amazing,” he said. “Fortunately, we’ve got some great fans.”
He admitted that playing for a ‘family friendly’ concert like the Jolly Day Out was a different type of show but that the boys never really had to change their act according to their audience.
“We are pretty consistent and very conscious of wanting to put out a good show,” he said. “ It would be a very rare thing to see us slack off.”
Formed in 2004, McFly launched with the help of fellow band Busted, who invited the group to tour with them.
Unlike their pop predecessors, however, they are going from strength to strength and are working on their sixth album as they approach their eight-year anniversary.
What singles them out is the relationship each of them has with the other, with no suggestions of rivalry between members.
“I can’t imagine being in a band where people don't get on,” said Harry. “We all chill out together before shows and go and meet the fans.
“The most important thing for us is being able to have a career doing something we enjoy and that’s a lot of fun.
“For the fans, it’s about knowing us and our personalities, and that doubles their enjoyment of the music.”
Even during tours, he said, they never seemed to get in each others’ way too much – “but we have got quite a big tour bus so we can get away from each other if we have to,” he added.
Fans react differently to them around the world, Harry said, but having already played in Europe, South America and Asia this year, they were looking forward to coming back to the home fans.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
“As soon as you are on stage, the nerves go,” he said.
“Whatever happens, these experiences stick with you and you have always got those memories.”

"McFly's Danny Jones whisks his Miss England to Cyprus for romantic sunshine break
McFly have been working hard all year promoting their fifth album Above The Noise and touring across the country.
So no doubt the band's guitarist Danny Jones couldn't wait for some much needed R&R with his in-live in girlfriend, model Georgia Horsley.
The couple jetted off to Cyprus, one of Europe's most romantic islands, for a nine-day holiday in the five-star Elysium Hotel in Paphos.
Former beauty queen Horsley, who won the Miss England title in 2007, showcased her model figure in a multi-coloured LisaBlue bikini.
After spending time relaxing on the sunloungers, the pair headed into the cool Mediterranean sea.
Clearly enjoying some rare alone time, Jones, 25, and Horsley, 24, kissed and hugged in the sea.
And despite enjoying having some quality time with the blonde, Jones was happy to pose with fans for photographs in the hotel grounds.
Writing on Twitter ahead of the holiday, Horsley enthused: 'Well it's very very early but me and @Dannymcfly are very very excited to be heading off on holiday! Yippee!! 9 days of ahhhhhhhhhhh.
'I'm also lucky enough to have been given some Beautiful @LisaBlueSwim swimwear for my hols!! I'm going to be a very stylish sunbather.'
Jones and Horsley started dating in late 2009 - shortly after he split from - coincidentally - her Miss England successor Laura Coleman.
The couple are now living together, but Jones has said they're not quite ready for marriage yet.
In an interview earlier this year, he told the Mirror: 'It’s serious. But I don’t think I’m quite at the putting-a-ring-on-her finger stage. Maybe in a couple of years.
'Girls still ask me out and I’m like "No, I’ve got a girlfriend". I’ve done my bit for the boys and it was great while it lasted, but I’m well and truly over that now.'
Meanwhile Jones isn't the only member of the group settled down - Harry Judd lives with his girlfriend, violinist Izzy Johnston from the string quartet Escala, and frontman Tom Fletcher is planning his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Giovanna Falcone.
The only bandmember currently single is Dougie Poynter, who was heartbroken when The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford called off their relationship for the second time last November.
Just weeks later, she started dating former England footballer Wayne Bridge."

"Love In The Sun For Mcfly's Danny Jones
He enjoys time off with girlfriend Georgia Horsley...
Mcfly have had a hectic year promoting their latest album Above the Noise and touring the world, so it’s nice to see frontman Danny Jones has whisked his Miss England girlfriend, Georgia Horsley, off on a romantic holiday…
The couple have been staying at the Elysium Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, and have clearly made the most of their luxury holiday in the sun.
Before jetting off Danny took to his Twitter account to make us all jealous, he wrote: “HOLIDAY TIME! See you in a week! Might tweet from the beach haha x”
Model Georgia shared his excitement, as she tweeted: “Well it's very very early but me and @Dannymcfly are very very excited to be heading off on holiday! Yippee!! 9 days of ahhhhhhhhhhh. I'm also lucky enough to have been given some Beautiful @LisaBlueSwim swimwear for my hols!! I'm going to be a very stylish sunbather.”
We’d have to agree, Georgia looks HOT - very stylish!"

"In the absence of Simon Cowell on a jet ski, we bring you Danny McFly on a jet ski
For reasons we couldn’t possibly repeat (they’re boring and legal), we haven’t been able to stare at pictures of Simon Cowell on a jet ski in some exotic location or other while smoking a fag (obvs) this year and to be honest, we’ve missed him.
So, here’s Danny McFly on his summer hols in Cyprus, on a jet ski, with an obligatory hot chick (in this case, former Miss England Georgia Horsley) instead of a fag.
We can’t help notice how plain and ordinary Danny looks though without the other McFly lads next to him, all styled, pouty and strumming their instruments. If we were in that Cyprian resort, we’d certainly be laying on our sun lounger remarking on what a mismatch they are. Just an observation – we probably still would and all that."

"McFly talk about their new album plans
On Sunday evening, heatworld headed over to the Jolly Day Out Festival at Hampton Court to catch McFly's final scheduled performance of the year – and have a natter with the boys backstage. Given their punishing work schedule over the past few months, the lads were literally exploding with energy – and Danny almost took out the big wheel with his T-shirt gun! When we ventured behind stage after the show, however, the poor dear was suffering from a serious case of rock-neck (hence the towel).
So, now that they have some free time, what are the boys planning to do next? Write their new album, that's what. "We're going away to do it," Danny tells us. "And this time I think it's just going to be us." On their last album Above The Noise, McFly collaborated with Taio Cruz and wrote tracks with Dallas Austin, but this time it sounds as if they're keeping things closer to home.
Dougie, who's had a tough year dealing with his break-up from The Saturdays' Frankie (can we just say again, Wayne Bridge over Dougie? Really?), is back to his cheeky self. And, ladies, we saw no evidence that he's off the singles market quite yet! You can form an orderly queue behind us.
Tom, naturally, was full of talk about his upcoming wedding to Giovanna Falcone and let slip that he'll be having not one but three Best Men. Bet you can't guess who... We did talk to Harry, too, but we can't remember anything he said because we were mesmerised by his arms. Dear. Lord.
McFly weren't the only boys getting the girls screaming at the Jolly Day Out – support band City Stereo did a good job of raising the temperatures, too. We asked the band, who have supported McFly on tour in the past, what antics they all got up to while on the road. "We thought we'd be partying every night," Ryan tells us. "But we were all too knackered. But there was this one night, when Dougie was in the shower..." And? AND? We never did hear how that story ended.
McFly's next tour will begin in April 2012. For more info on City Stereo, go to Myspace.com/citystereo
PS Sorry the photo is a little blurred. We think the camera got excited."

"Rock’n’bowl! Pop stars McFly join Jardines campaign
MCFLY have added some star power to the campaign to save Jardines bowling alley.
Drummer Harry Judd said he regularly uses the bowling alley in Aylesbury with his girlfriend’s brother Rupert.
Rupert, 33, suffered brain damage in a car crash aged 18.
“Rupert uses Jardines every week, it’s a big part of his life and something he really loves it,” said Harry.
“A lot of people from the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust use it.
“I back the campaign to keep Jardines open 100 per cent.”
A planning application has been submitted to turn Jardines into a shop. A Bucks Herald petition against the plans attracted more than 1,000 signatures."

"Frankie Sandford: Talking about my split from Dougie Poynter is so boring
Frankie Sandford is fed up with talk about her split from Dougie Poynter.
The couple ended their on-off relationship in November 2010 and Saturdays singer Frankie - who is now dating footballer Wayne Bridge - is baffled by the continued interest in her break-up with the McFly star.
‘The whole thing became such a huge thing in the press,' says Frankie, 22.
‘And I'm like: "Why do you all care? What's it got to do with you?"
‘Then suddenly it was all: "Poor Dougie has gone into rehab while Frankie's running around with her new boyfriend.
‘The whole subject is so boring.'
Frankie also denies that she deliberately avoided Dougie, 23, when their bands both played the same festival recently.
‘We just got ready at a different place from the festival itself - like all the other artists,' explains Frankie.
‘And when we arrived at the gig for our slot, McFly had already finished and gone.'"
