"Strictly Come Dancing's Harry Judd: 'I've got some making up to do when I get home because of steamy routines'
HEART-THROB Harry Judd’s raunchy Strictly Come Dancing routines have been steaming up the nation’s TV screens – but also left him in hot water at home.
The 25-year-old McFly drummer has set the dancefloor alight with his professional partner Aliona Viliana.
He is now firm favourite to win the glitterball trophy – and not only because of his habit of whisking off his shirt, to the delight of his fans.
So it would be no surprise if all the female attention is turning his girlfriend Izzy Johnston green with envy.
Harry says: “She’s always had to deal with it with me being in a band, and she wouldn’t be with me if she didn’t trust me. But I do need to make it up to her. I haven’t been around for eight weeks now.”
His undeniable chemistry with Aliona has sparked whispers that the couple have become more than just friends while working on the hit BBC1 dance contest.
Last week their showstopping Argentine Tango left even hard-to-please judge Craig Revel Horwood screeching: “It was filth and I loved it!” But the pair have been quick to quash rumours of a romance, insisting that Izzy, who often joins them for rehearsals, and Aliona have become great friends, too.
Harry says: “Izzy has been incredibly supportive. I often get back at 10.30pm or 11pm – me and Aliona can’t work in the mornings, so we start at one or two.
“I get home and just go to bed, it’s very consuming. You don’t have time for anything else, nothing.
“Our only day off is Sunday, but if it’s a hard dance Aliona will want me to come in on a Sunday to do three hours just to start off on it.”
Once Strictly is over, Harry plans to make it up to Izzy, who found fame in Britain’s Got Talent classical string quartet Escala.
But he may end up back in the dog house when he does Strictly’s live tour next year and then rejoins the rest of McFly – Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones.
With Tom set to marry long-term partner Giovanna Falcone next year, there is a lot of talk of wedding bells. And the pressure is on Harry to pop the question, too.
He jokes: “My friend texted me the other day saying, ‘No pressure on your first dance now.’ I said to Aliona, ‘Maybe you’ll have to give us some lessons’, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Harry has won a legion of more mature admirers thanks to Strictly turning him from teenage girls’ poster boy into a smooth ladies’ man. He grins: “I’ve had lots of fans on Twitter saying, ‘My nan fancies you.’ Whenever I see that I tweet back, ‘Say hi to your nan for me.’
“Or fans say, ‘Oh my God, I’m so embarrassed my nan and mum are talking about how much they fancy Harry.’ I’m loving it.”
The competition has also made his family sit up and take notice of him, in a way that his string of Top 10 hits with McFly never quite did. He says his dad has “never been so proud” of him.
Harry says: “My family are loving it. All of a sudden my mum and dad’s friends are emailing them, ‘Wow, isn’t Harry doing well? They’d see things every now and again from McFly, but with Strictly they’re following it avidly.”
Now bitten by the dancing bug, he declares himself a “lifelong Strictly fan”. Many TV viewers obviously agree. Strictly beat rival ITV’s X Factor in the ratings for the first time ever this year with 10.2 million viewers.
“I used to watch X Factor but I don’t think it’s very good this year,” Harry says. “To be honest, Simon Cowell to me is X Factor and without him it just seems like something’s missing.
“I miss Cheryl Cole, too. Don’t get me wrong I really like Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Kelly Rowland, and to be fair I haven’t had time to watch it. I just think it’s missing a couple of great talents.
“Last year you had One Direction, Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd, Rebecca Ferguson, you had really exciting artists and all of them really different.
“Just watching One Direction you could tell it was the start of something massive. Whereas this year... I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem the same. Obviously I’m team Strictly now.”
With eight dancers left, Harry is edging closer to the Strictly crown. Bookies are tipping him to battle it out with Jason Donovan and Holly Valance in the final, yet he constantly worries about his performances.
He says: “Every week I doubt myself. You don’t know if you’re good or not. You feel like you’re doing it right, but often if you watch yourself back it’s not as good as you thought it was.
“And you’re always looking for reassurance. Obviously your dance partner’s reassuring but you’re thinking, ‘Well, she’s going to say that!’
“You don’t really find out how you’ve done until you’ve done the dance and you get a reaction from the judges.
“I get very nervous, everyone does. Beforehand me and Robbie Savage have been wishing each other ‘Good luck’ and shaking hands – and we’ve always both got sweaty palms. Every week it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re here again. Oh God!’”
Fortunately, Harry has one bizarre pre-stage ritual that helps to calm his nerves.
“I don’t have any superstitions but I have to have a banana before I go on,” he says. “About 20 minutes before I was like, ‘Where’s my banana?’ Once I forgot my banana and I was like to this guy, ‘Mate, can you get me a banana?’ And he came back with a whole bunch of them.
“I was like, ‘I only need one.’”
So what do his McFly bandmates think of his new-found dancing skills?
Harry says: “They’re loving me being on the show. I think it’s a good thing I’ve shocked them and I think I’ve done better than they thought I would. And I feel like I’ve been able to let go and really embrace it and not be embarrassed.”
“Strictly has been an amazing experience and I’m determined to just keep doing the best I can.”
And despite jibes from his pals, he’s tempted to keep his showbizzy image.
He says: “With the spray-tan and the outfits you feel like you look the part and it gets you into character.
“I can see why it’s hard for people to let go once they do it.”

"We’re LOVING Dougie Poynter on I’m A Celebrity, and here’s why…
There aren't many men who can ponce about in a bra and still look attractive. In fact, there aren't many guys who can talk openly about farts without making our toes curl with discomfort. But Dougie Poynter is the exception to both those rules – and more. Ever since he strolled awkwardly out to join his fellow celebs around the pool at the I'm A Celeb... welcome ceremony, McFly's chisel-jawed bassist has stolen every jungle scene he's been in. Firstly, there is nothing whatsoever pretentious about Dougie. Celebritites (bless them) can sometimes be a bit...well, fond of themselves, shall we say? They may have a tendency to take themselves a little too seriously. Dougie does not take himself seriously at all – he's all about the fun, which is why we see him as a kindred heat spirit.
Boys club
We love the little boys' club he's formed with Mark Wright and the fact that he happily admitted that the pair natter away about "boobies and farts". When he convinced Mark that there were "Drop Bears" in the jungle that would fall from the trees and gnaw on your head, Mark not only believed him but also said earnestly, "I think I've seen some." When his team lost the Beat The Bugs challenge, Dougie was the only one to lean back and relish his goo-shower, and his burps are some of the longest and most impressive we've ever heard. Seriously, how does he get those out with no help from beer or even Coca Cola? That's years of practice we're witnessing right there.
Rambo
We love his cute tattoos, we love how he wears his headband like Rambo and still manages to look hot, and we love all the sly puns and jokes that he keeps dropping into conversation. The other night he quipped that there was "a little Willie in the bin" and nobody else in the camp even laughed! Don't worry, Dougie, we were snuffling from our sofa. Historically, Dougie has always been the quietest member of McFly during interviews, preferring to let Tom, Danny and Harry do the talking (although he does enjoy bantering with the army of McFly fans while on stage at gigs), so it's nice to see him go it alone. Harry Judd and his amazing dancing feet (and abs, and pecs) may have won over the lusty hearts of a thousand women during Strictly Come Dancing, but Dougie and his hilarious jungle antics may well go on to win over both sexes. There's just nothing not to love about him – and we think he should go all the way to the final.
Do you share our love of the Dougster, and who do you think will take this year's I'm A Celeb... crown?"

"Aw! Dougie Poynter wants to marry his girlfriend!
If you’ve been watching I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here as much as we have been, you’ll know that the lovely Dougie Poynter from McFly is completely and utterly loved up with his new girlfriend Lara Carew-Jones. In fact, he’s been banging on about how adorable his new flame is for a week or so now, and according to The Sun, Dougie’s so serious about his girl that he's told Mark Wright how he’s ready to marry her!
Dougie revealed soppily, "I think I'm gonna marry her. I feel like she's a much more awesome version of me in a girl's body. Lara is a complete one-off... gorgeous."
Aw! How sweet is he – we wish our boyfriend would talk about us like that with his mates.
Even though the Dougster being so happy is great news to everyone (especially those who felt his pain following his break up with Saturdays star Frankie Sandford), we also know there will be a whole load of young hearts breaking as the last single member of McFly hooks up for good. We just hope we get an invite to the wedding!
Oh and in other I’m a Celeb news, Sinitta was finally put out of her misery by being booted off the show. The bug-hating ex of Brad Pitt and Simon Cowell was told of the ‘bad’ news by Ant and Dec to which she responded, “It feels amazing. I sort of knew. I am so glad I got to stay an extra day and to leave when I started to love it.”
To be honest, we’re not sure how much we’ll miss watching Sinitta scream her way through Bushtucker Trials. The high-pitched wailing gets quite tedious after a while, doesn’t it?"
