DREAMS came true for a Wigan youngster when McFly guitarist Danny Jones visited a new arts club.
Danny, who is originally from Bolton, made the visit to St Anthony’s Centre in Horwich to give his support to Club imag1ne, an exciting new venture for youngsters with special needs, before taking to the stage with his bandmates as the headline act at KiDs Charity Masquerade Ball at the Reebok Stadium, organised by footballer Kevin Davies.
Ellie Greenaway, aged 15 from Tyldesley, who attends Fred Longworth School, said: “It was lovely to meet Danny. I love McFly and it’s brilliant that he’s here.”
The club, which meets every Tuesday at Bolton Arena for evenings of games, arts, drama and friendship, is staffed by highly qualified and experienced staff and offers membership to people between the ages of 10 and 30.
Impressed with the club and its facilities and with the promise to help the group in any way he can, Danny said: “I’m delighted to see these youngsters having this opportunity and having so much fun!
“It’s great for kids to be involved in music and productions and just generally being creative and expressing themselves.
“People have creative sides, whatever their abilities, and this group is letting young people express that. This is a group I really want to support.”
